The road to WWE WrestleMania 40 continues to hit speed bumps, roadblocks, and reroutes. Following WWE Royal Rumble, all signs pointed to the show being headlined by Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk. Just one week after that premium live event, Punk was shelved due to injury and Rhodes stepped aside to allow Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to take his spot against the Tribal Chief.

Most of my guys have had record deals and toured the world. We have a common mission and a bond unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. We have a band together, too, called Sacred Sons, that plays our shows. I’ve been able to hire 12 of my rock star friends who deliver our program many times a day.

We have developed multi-week curriculums and continue to offer our dynamic services over the internet, with incredible results. These are guys who’ve played with bands like Korn, Sevendust, Snot, Papa Roach, Ugly Kid Joe, System of a Down, Kut U Up, KillRadio, Hed P.E., Spacehog, etc. I had my guitar, and I saw how powerful it was when this anxious, cliquey group would be united by the creative moments we had between activities in rehab. The whole world and dark energy would melt away when we played music and sang. People would come together and let loose, dancing and singing. Both Cody Rhodes and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins are expected to be present on tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw.
Geer, with the help of friends in the music industry, has grown R2R into a prevalent and therapeutic modality in various treatment settings. Rock to Recovery was created to help soothe the restless souls of those in recovery. We do this by creating a “band” and writing and recording songs together with Rock to Recovery’s staff of professional musicians, who are also in recovery. We help bring fun into treatment and recovery by offering a natural escape from the fear-based mind.
This helps people grow a sense of belonging and self esteem. We help to vent emotions by writing lyrics and singing together for release, in real-time. We tie in a positive theme of hope in recovery throughout the whole process. When the session is done, our “band” members feel a new energy all throughout their minds and spirits. Rock Recovery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the journey to freedom from disordered eating through holistic and accessible recovery programming and community empowerment. We do this by removing barriers of cost, location, and timing, and by helping people break isolation.
Music reminds many people in addiction recovery of their early days of drinking and drug use—before the consequences. Creating a mental connection between music and drugs is dangerous because it turns music into a trigger to use. At Solution Based Treatment & Detox, we believe no one should have to live without music. We are typically an ancillary service that plugs into a treatment program, like a rehab or wounded warriors’ program, so the people involved are just everyday people struggling with life’s problems. We always have some hidden gems that are musical, or actually may be musicians, but most are not musicians at all. That’s the magic of the program—connecting people with the power of music who may not have seen it as an option before.
This led to significant backlash from fans, prompting WWE to pivot plans once again and lock in Reigns vs. Rhodes the following week. Despite the change, The Rock stayed in the storyline, poised to still compete at WWE WrestleMania 40 in some capacity. Proceeds go to supporting awareness, education, and prevention efforts for those suffering with substance use disorder. Rock Recovery Battle of the Bands will be held at the APlex, 701 Woodward Ave., with doors opening at 5 p.m. Concessions will be available, but alcohol will not be allowed, as this is a sober event.
We’re on a mission to provide educational resources to reduce the stigma around mental illness, increase access to care and educate the local community about eating disorders. Unable to afford costly clinical services in Washington, DC, she sought a community of people to understand and support her as she navigated eating disorder recovery. Callie began struggling with an eating disorder in high school and wasn’t sure recovery would ever be possible for her. Then she joined Rock’s Bridge to Life body image therapy group with the help of sliding scale financial assistance and the community of women she encountered changed her life. ALPENA — An all-ages event celebrating musical talent and sobriety is coming to the APlex on Saturday, with proceeds to benefit Freedom Recovery Center.
Finally, she discovered Rock Recovery’s programs and was able to work towards real and lasting recovery. Gathering additional support in the pandemic is what your recovery may need. Rock to Recovery helps people heal and transform their lives through the powerful experience of writing, playing, and performing music as a group. Improve your mental health and feel a sense of community by joining our group sessions with people from around the world.
